New Jersey State Employees
2009-2010 Charitable Campaign

It is with great pride that we write as the Chairs of the 2009-2010 New Jersey State Employee Charitable Campaign (NJSECC). We know that this year will be a challenge due to New Jersey's economic state; but, we are also confident that with your continued support the campaign will be able to grow.

Americans are no strangers to expressing generosity through the acts of giving and volunteering. For many of you, supporting charitable causes is something you already do. As New Jersey state public employees, we are committed and dedicated to making a positive difference in the communities where we live, work, and serve. Our goal for the upcoming year is to increase the overall employee participation rate.

Last year, approximately 9,500 State employees participated in the NJSECC, bringing in more than $1.8 million. Without diminishing the generosity of those who do participate, it is worth noting that our statewide participation rate is less than 6 percent; this year, we challenge you to help us reach the national average of 25%. If every agency can double the number of employees participating in the campaign, and each new employee gives a gift of $52, the campaign will increase by almost $500,000.

We are setting ambitious participation goals this year and with your help, we will provide unprecedented support to the more than 1,500 charities participating in this campaign. When you give, you automatically become part of the solution and help to create lasting changes in your communities. The success of NJSECC can be attributed to a combination of strong leadership and generous donors; please join us this year!

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

Heather Howard
